Previously, in order to add posts or content to my sites, I relied on a CMS, or (painstaking) FTP access. The cognitive barriers represented by those clunky, bloated, frustrating methods kept me from writing and sharing things as often as I wanted.
This new (to me) static platform means I can just write markdown files and upload them through SSH, or even write them directly on the server, and it just... appears. This is extremely liberating to me as an approach to writing, since the fussiness of an in-browser CMS is removed. I can just write in VS Code, using .md syntax, and upon saving the file, I'm done. The post appears and I can move on.
Dealing with things like images and archives will come later. For now, I'm just excited to have a new way to think about Posting, Online!
